SideBar Hacks
- I used a little bit of CSS/HTML to make the SideBar into a Navigation Menu. If you'd like to see what I did, you can either view the Source Code in your browser or look at the text file here.
Inkscape. Draw Freely
- I use Inkscape for all of my graphics. It's a really good, free and open source vector graphics editor.
- The KHS logo in the header is one that we've developed for school use.
- The monitor is part of the Tango icon set
- I chose the "color my workspace based on this logo's colors" option on the logo page to set the colors for this workspace. I'm pretty pleased.
PBworks Settings
- PBWorks also gives you a lot of default templates to play with. They tended to clutter up the Pages and Files, so, I created a Default folder, moved all of those templates to that folder, and chose Custom Security for that folder so that it can't be seen by the public.
- There are a variety of other PBworks advanced techniques documented at http://customize.pbworks.com/.
- I will admit that I didn't like a lot of the elements on the right side of the page in the default workspace, so, I did play with the Settings > Advanced Settings > Customization options. If you'd like the same look, my settings are shown in the screenshot below. (Taken with Snagit, btw.)
